About BlueApples Cymru
BlueApples Cymru is a community-focused service developed by CultureMindsUK. It will provide safe, welcoming supported accommodation for young people aged 16 and over in Newport, helping them build stability, confidence and practical skills for greater independence. The service is being developed in line with relevant safeguarding, housing and regulatory requirements.
What We Will Provide
- Safe and homely accommodation with support tailored to each young person.
- Help with cooking, budgeting, household routines and appointments.
- Encouragement to take part in education, training, employment and positive community activities.
- Support for wellbeing, healthy relationships, safeguarding and planned transitions to independence.
Creating Opportunities for Local People
BlueApples Cymru will create employment and development opportunities for suitable residents of Duffryn and surrounding areas of Newport. Opportunities may include support, administrative and community-based roles as the service grows. All appointments will follow safer recruitment, background-checking, training and supervision requirements. Recruiting locally will help build a workforce that understands the community while keeping skills and employment within Newport.
